Troubleshooting
IPTV Black Screen, No Video but Audio: Causes and Fixes
If a channel opens but the screen stays black, or only audio plays, the stream itself may be working but the player cannot decode the picture. The most common causes are an unsupported video codec (especially HEVC/H.265 or 10-bit), a wrong stream format, the server returning an HTML error page and the hardware acceleration setting.
Quick fix steps
- Check the stream address with the Stream URL Tester: is it really video or an HTML error page?
- If it is HLS look at the codec with the HLS Stream Tester.
- Change the stream format in the player (ts ↔ m3u8).
- Toggle hardware acceleration or try another player.
- If it happens on only one channel the source is broken; tell your provider.
Tools to fix the problem
In-depth explanation
Codec and device compatibility
H.264 (AVC) and AAC work on every device. HEVC/H.265, AV1, 10-bit colour and Dolby audio (ec-3) may not be supported on older TVs, some browsers and low-end boxes. Then the sound (AAC) plays but the picture cannot be decoded and you see a black screen. You can see the stream's codec with the Stream Codec and Bitrate Info tool; if the server offers an H.264 variant choose it.
Göktürk IPTV plays such streams on devices that support hardware HEVC/AV1 decoding; if the device has no hardware, software decoding can be slow.
If the stream address returns HTML
If the stream address returns HTTP 200 but the content is HTML, the server is sending an error or notice page (expired account, blocked IP, removed channel). The player takes it for video and stays on a black screen. The Stream URL Tester shows an HTML page warning in the 'Detected format' field; in that case check the account with the Xtream Login Tester.
Settings
Turning hardware acceleration off and on fixes some GPU driver issues. Frame-rate matching (AFR) and HDR settings can cause a black screen on some displays; try them off. If you are playing in a browser check the CORS and mixed content possibility with the CORS Tester.
Frequently asked questions

4K channel black, HD works?
The device has no 4K/HEVC hardware decoder or the HDMI cable/port does not support 4K.
Black only in the browser?
A CORS or codec restriction; try a TV/mobile app.
