How does the M3U format work?
M3U is a plain text file. The first line starts with #EXTM3U. Each channel consists of an #EXTINF line followed by the stream address. The #EXTINF line holds the duration (-1 for live), attributes such as tvg-id, tvg-name, tvg-logo and group-title, and the channel name.
This simple structure makes lists easy to edit, but small mistakes (a missing comma, unquoted attributes, a line without a URL) can make channels vanish in players. The validator and cleaner tools exist to find and fix these mistakes.
Working with big lists
Even lists with hundreds of thousands of channels can be processed in the browser. For a very large list, first use the filter or splitter to isolate the part you need and then edit it. You can give the downloaded M3U file to your player as a URL or a file.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between M3U and M3U8?
M3U8 is the UTF-8 encoded version of M3U. In IPTV lists both extensions carry the same format; HLS stream lists also use .m3u8, which can cause confusion.
Is my list uploaded to a server?
No. The file is processed in your browser. If you fetch a list from a remote URL, only that fetch request passes through our temporary relay.
How do I move the edited list to my TV?
Download the file and load it in your player, send it to your Göktürk IPTV account after signing in, or create a personal playlist link.
