IPTV 403 Forbidden and 404 Not Found Errors: What They Mean and How to Fix Them

403 Forbidden shows that the server understood the request but refused it: the account expired, the account is blocked, your IP or country is restricted, the connection limit is exceeded or the player identity (User-Agent) is not accepted. 401 Unauthorized means authentication is missing or invalid; the username/password is wrong. To fix it first look at the account status (Xtream Login Tester), then turn off the VPN, try a different player identity and close streams on other devices.

404 Not Found says the address is not on the server: the channel was removed, the channel number (stream_id) changed, the address was mistyped or the provider updated the list. If you use an old M3U copy refresh the list. If it happens on only a few channels those channels were removed; detect them in bulk with the M3U Dead Link Checker and clean up with the M3U Filter or Duplicate Remover.

Codes 500-504 are server-side problems: maintenance, overload or a configuration error. There is nothing you can do on your side; wait a while and tell your provider. For a timeout or unreachable state check the route to the server with the Server Ping Test.
